Pietersen makes the ICC top 10 list
Kevin Pietersen has rightly made it into the top 10 of the ICC world batsmen rankings after his man-of-the-match performance in England's second-Test win over Sri Lanka. His 142 in the 1st innings of England's six-wicket defeat of Sri Lanka at Edgbaston helped move him seven places up the order into 10th place.
Remakably it was Pietersen's third successive century in home tests and now is England's top ranked batsman according to the ICC list.
Pietersen is accompanied by Marcus Trescothick in 11th and his opening partner Andrew Strauss 15th which hopefully signals a successful summer of cricket for all England fans.
We're not doing too bad with the ball either as bowlers Matthew Hoggard and Andrew Flintoff remain in fifth and sixth spots. Whilst Flitoff remains in second place for all-rounders behind South Africa's Jacques Kallis.
