Barbados Airport - Getting There (Slowly)

For those travelling to Barbados for the Super 8 stage of the Cricket World Cup in 2007 should find a fantastic airport to arrive at.

I first travelled through it in 2006 and was shocked by how underdeveloped it was. There was no duty free, no eating area and no seating area.

I've just come back from my second trip to the Island and can see that the airport is proceeding (but at a slow place). There is now a waiting area and I counted around five shops: 1 selling sandwiches and pizza; another selling magazines, one selling jewellery and two selling souveniers.

There were about 15 empty shells of shops and bars and I was seriously worried about their ability to complete on time.

So, at the moment, I'd say spend you Bajan Dollars before you enter the airport!
