Australian Legend Due to Resign

John Buchanan - the hugely successful coach of the Australian Cricket Team is due to retire after the Cricket World Cup in the West Indies next year.

Buchanan led Australia to their world record string of 16 consecutive Test wins between October 1999 and March 2001.

They also won 21 consecutive one day matches in 2003 which included 11 in the World Cup in South Africa.

He said "There's a shelf life in coaching and I believe that following the World Cup it will be the appropriate time to hand over the reins to someone new."

During his reign Australia won 75.29 per cent of its 85 tests.
